Sharing the Good, Growing the Conversation, and Celebrating JOY!

Sharing the Good with Dr. Denise Ball is now available on Amazon Audible!

What a JOY it has been to watch a simple idea, rooted in a desire to recognize and share the good happening in Catholic education, grow into conversations that connect educators, school and system leaders, pastors, university colleagues, and educational partners from across the country!

I am excited to share that the Sharing the Good with Dr. Denise Ball podcast is now available on Amazon Audible, in addition to YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and iHeartRadio. Wherever you enjoy listening to podcasts, I hope you will join us!

While this is an exciting milestone, what fills my heart with the greatest gratitude is not the growing number of platforms. It is the remarkable people who generously give of their time to share their experiences, research-supported best practices, practical strategies, and inspirational moments of hope and JOY.

Each conversation reminds me of something I have come to believe deeply throughout my years in Catholic education: We have so much to learn from one another, and we can do more when we do it together!

From strengthening middle school culture and creating bridges of belonging to cultivating JOY, supporting teachers, and leading with faith and purpose, these conversations offer opportunities to reflect, learn, and celebrate the good work happening in our Catholic schools.

A New Series: Catholic Education Leadership

I am super excited about the launch of our newest podcast series, Catholic Education Leadership, which will continue through January 2027.

What a blessing to launch this series with Dr. Steve Cheeseman, President and CEO of the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). Our conversation was a beautiful reminder that authentic Catholic leadership is grounded in faith, humility, service, and a willingness to recognize the gifts in others and our responsibility we have in accompanying others on this journey of life. Steve’s reflections on the hope he encounters in Catholic schools across the country were both inspiring and affirming.

…and the conversations are just beginning!

Next week, I am delighted to welcome Dr. Anita Harkins-Mehsling, Associate Superintendent for the Archdiocese of Omaha, for an episode titled Leading with Purpose: Staying Grounded in the WHY.

Together, we will explore the importance of remaining connected to our mission, especially when the demands of leadership become challenging. How do we stay grounded in our purpose? How do we create the conditions for others to thrive, and how might remembering our WHY help us lead with renewed hope, clarity, and JOY?

I am looking forward to sharing Anita’s wisdom and experiences with you!

An Invitation to Join the Conversation

To every Catholic educational leader, teacher, pastor, university colleague, and educational partner who has joined me for these conversations, thank you! Your generosity, wisdom, and willingness to share what you have learned are gifts to the profession and to the communities we serve.

To those listening, sharing episodes with colleagues, or bringing these ideas into your schools and classrooms, thank you for helping us extend the conversation. I had a principal send me a message today that they shared the link in their weekly newsletter. I am so overwhelmed by the outpouring of support!

My hope is that Sharing the Good continues to be a place where we can celebrate what is working, learn from one another, and remind those serving in Catholic education that they are part of something much bigger than themselves.

Sometimes, all it takes is hearing another educator’s story, discovering a new strategy, or being reminded that we are not alone in this important work to renew our sense of purpose.

So please, come and join the conversation. Listen wherever you enjoy your podcasts, share an episode with a colleague, and perhaps take a moment today to recognize the good happening right where you serve.

When we intentionally train our eyes to see the good, we discover there is so much worth celebrating and sharing.

After all, JOY is synergistic. The more we share it, the more it grows.

We can do more, together!

With gratitude and JOY,

Dr. Denise Ball
