Sharing the Good with Denise Ball is a new (June 2026) podcast and YouTube platform created to encourage educators, leaders, parents, and people of faith to notice, name, and nurture the good already present in their lives, schools, and communities.
After 28 years of serving in education as a teacher, school leader, diocesan leader, researcher, writer, and lifelong learner, I have been blessed to walk alongside educators and leaders who have taught me what it means to serve with courage, faith, and joy. For the last eight-plus years, much of my research, writing, and professional work has focused on team building, teacher retention, and the development of strong, healthy school cultures. Again and again, one simple truth continues to rise to the surface: educators and school leaders need to be seen, heard, encouraged, and reminded that their work matters. It is essential to remember “why” we choose to serve in education.
When adults in a school community feel valued, supported, and connected to a shared mission, the entire campus is strengthened. Joy becomes more visible, trust grows, collaboration deepens, and students benefit. Schools become more stable, dynamic, and hope-filled places of learning.
That is the heart behind Sharing the Good with Dr. Denise Ball.
My goal is not to create a perfect channel or chase likes. My hope is to create a real and authentic space where we can collectively notice, name, and share the good, and perhaps inspire at least one person who needs encouragement that day. After retiring last June, following 27 years of service in Catholic education, I have found myself with more time to reflect, write, listen, and reconnect with many of you who have followed Unlock the Teacher since its creation 14 years ago.
This new space is an extension of that same mission. Sharing the Good with Dr. Denise Ball invites us all to pause and see that goodness is all around us in our daily lives, even in challenging seasons. Through short reflections, conversations, and inspirational messages from educators and leaders, my hope is that this channel becomes a place of encouragement, renewal, and light.
